{"id":442,"date":"2022-11-29T15:58:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-29T06:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.mdv.co.jp\/news\/?p=442"},"modified":"2025-08-05T15:08:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T06:08:07","slug":"a-large-scale-survey-was-conducted-among-users-of-the-phr-system-karteco-and-show-ones-health-and-medical-information-to-the-family-was-the-most-common-re","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.mdv.co.jp\/news\/2022\/article-1129.html","title":{"rendered":"A large-scale survey was conducted among users of the PHR system \u201cKarteco,\u201d and \u201cshow one\u2019s health and medical information to the family\u201d was the most common response."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. who develops and provides \u201cKarteco,\u201d a PHR system that enables people to manage their health and medical information by themselves for a lifetime, conducted a survey among Karteco users and asked them with whom they would share their health and medical information, and found that \u201cfamily members\u201d were the most common answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This survey was conducted for 11 days from October 21 to 31, 2022, through the web among \u201cKarteco\u201d users (including patients and medical checkup patients), with 2,219 respondents. The service was launched in June 2015, and as of the end of September 2022, there are currently 11 medical institutions and health checkup facilities where \u201cKarteco\u201d can be used. Including those who have downloaded and are using \u201cKarteco\u201d as an app, approximately 40,000 people are using the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>When the survey asked, \u201cHave you ever shown your health and medical information on Karteco to anyone?\u201d with multiple answers, 69.1% of the respondents answered \u201cno,\u201d followed by 24.4% for \u201cfamily members,\u201d 6.8% for \u201cdoctors,\u201d and so on (see the upper part of the graph).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to this question, we also included an \u201cOther\u201d option (2.8%) and asked respondents to write freely, and the most common answer was \u201cinsurance company.\u201d<br>Other responses included \u201coccupational therapist,\u201d \u201ccare manager,\u201d \u201ccompany health nurse,\u201d as well as \u201cshowed a friend with the same disease about prescription drugs\u201d and \u201csupervisor at work.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"934\" src=\"https:\/\/en.mdv.co.jp\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/20221129_karteco_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-443\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Among medical records, \u201ctest results\u201d topped the list.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"889\" src=\"https:\/\/en.mdv.co.jp\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/20221129_karteco_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-444\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cKarteco\u201d allows users to check on the results of their visits at medical institutions and health checkups anytime, anywhere using smartphones and other devices as health \/ medical information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked with multiple choice answers what items in the \u201cMedical Records\u201d section of the \u201cMedical Information\u201d category of \u201cKarteco\u201d they checked most often, 907 people responded (see bottom of graph).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top response was \u201ctest results\u201d (86.2%), followed by \u201cprescribed medications\u201d (29.3%) and the name of the disease (21.6%).
