(MDV; Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Iwasaki) is pleased to announce the launch, on Thursday, October 31, of a new feature in the personal health record (PHR) system &#8220;Karteco&#8221; that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the risk of developing 34 different diseases based on health checkup results.<br>\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, the &#8220;Future Prediction Report&#8221; used existing logic based on health checkup results to predict the risk of developing six diseases. This time, utilizing one of Japan\u2019s largest medical database owned by MDV (<em>), and with technical support from Sony Network Communications Inc.&#8217;s AI predictive analysis tool, &#8220;Prediction One,&#8221; we have developed an enhanced model for predicting disease onset risk. (<\/em> As of the end of September 2024, covering 48.95 million actual patients)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"997\" src=\"https:\/\/en.mdv.co.jp\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.mdv.co.jp\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image2.png 512w, https:\/\/en.mdv.co.jp\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image2-154x300.png 154w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>\u3000The &#8220;Future Prediction Report&#8221; calculates and provides the three-year onset risk for 34 diseases. The primary aim of this feature is to encourage behavior changes for disease prevention and health maintenance, as well as to recommend follow-up medical consultations after health checkups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Features of the Future Prediction Report:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health Risk<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to predicting the risk of disease onset, this feature also considers the potential impact on quality of life (QOL) if the individual develops the disease, and displays the &#8220;health risk&#8221; accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Disease Multiplier<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>To make the risk of onset (shown as a percentage) easier to understand, the risk is recalculated by comparing it to others of the same gender and age group.
