Diabetes is a disease in which the concentration of glucose in the blood (blood sugar level) increases. As the disease worsens, arteriosclerosis progresses, making it more likely to have a stroke or ischemic heart disease. According to the “2019 National Health and Nutrition Survey” (*) conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the percentage of “those who are strongly suspected of having diabetes” is 19.7% for men and 10.8% for women.
