Expansion of Predictive Analysis Targets for Onset Risk with PHR “Karteco” Leveraging Sony’s AI-Powered Tool

Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Iwasaki; hereinafter referred to as “MDV”), the developer and provider of Personal Health Records (PHR) “Karteco,” is enhancing the functionality of Karteco through technical collaboration with Sony Network Communications Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Jun Watanabe) and their AI predictive analysis tool, “Prediction One.”
MDV, which possesses the largest domestic medical database (as of the end of February 2024, with 46.74 million actual patients), aims to support the advancement of healthcare and health management by applying Prediction One’s technology. Prediction One has hitherto developed and provided services for B2B companies. For the first time, it will support the provision of services for end-users under the B2C model.
Expansion of Onset Risk Prediction to a Total of 22 Diseases by the End of September 2024
MDV will utilize Prediction One to further enhance the functionality of Karteco. Specifically, Prediction One’s AI technology will be applied to the “Disease Risk Report,” one of the services accompanying Karteco, which indicates the risk of disease onset through future predictions.
Currently, Karteco’s “Disease Risk Report” utilizes existing logic based on health examination results to present the onset risk of six diseases. However, by applying Prediction One’s predictive analysis service, the onset risk prediction will be expanded to a total of 22 diseases by the end of September 2024.
MDV is currently conducting Proof of Concept (PoC) with the support of Sony Network Communications’ data scientists. Six PoCs have been completed, confirming their effectiveness.

Prediction One, provided by Sony Network Communications, is an AI predictive analysis tool for non-specialists that enables predictive analysis with a few clicks, even without specialized knowledge in machine learning or programming.
By leveraging Sony’s proprietary automatic modeling, Prediction One achieves high predictive accuracy while automating the specialized aspects of AI model development, reducing operational burdens. It also presents the basis for predictions alongside the predictions themselves, making it easier to take subsequent actions.
