MDV Starts a New Chapter as a Member of the Nippon Life Group New Management Team Appointed

Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “MDV”), which aims to promote the centralized use of medical data, hereby announces that, as of May 21, it has begun a new chapter under a newly appointed management team as a member of the Nippon Life Insurance Company Group. Nippon Life Insurance Company is headquartered in Chuo-ku, Osaka, with its Tokyo Head Office located in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku.
MDV’s shares were delisted from the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange on April 24, and Nippon Life had already acquired all shares of MDV. On May 21, MDV held an extraordinary meeting of its Board of Directors, at which the new management team was appointed.

MDV will continue striving to maximize the benefits provided to hospitals through its services and to create value for patients and the public through the utilization of medical big data. In doing so, MDV will support hospitals that sustain the health of local communities and contribute to maintaining and developing a society in which people in those communities can live healthy and secure lives.

Masaki Nakamura graduated from Kyushu Institute of Technology in March 2004 and joined MDV in October 2007. He contributed to the planning of management support systems for medical institutions and to the expansion of MDV’s data utilization services business. In March 2018, he was appointed Director of MDV.

Furthermore, by combining our domestically largest hospital-derived medical database with the local government and insurer data held by the Nippon Life Group, we will build a unique health data platform.

Medical Big Data Covering More Than 60 Million Actual Patients
Since its founding, MDV has built trusted relationships with hospitals by providing management support systems and receiving anonymized medical care data from those institutions. Through proprietary know-how in data cleansing, MDV has developed one of Japan’s largest medical big data platforms. As of the end of April 2026, this database covered 61.21 million actual patients.
