Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. (MDV) Conducts Extensive Survey Among “Karteco” PHR System Users, Revealing High Interest in Family Health

Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. (MDV), based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and led by President Hiroyuki Iwasaki, has developed and provided a Personal Health Record (PHR) system named “Karteco,” empowering individuals to manage their lifelong health and medical information. In a recent survey conducted among “Karteco” users, it was revealed that they not only have a profound interest in their own health but also demonstrate a significant concern for the well-being of their families.
The survey, conducted from November 27 to December 11, 2023, targeted “Karteco” users, including patients and health examination recipients, with a total of 1,407 respondents participating via web-based platforms. Since its launch in June 2015, “Karteco” has been available at 10 medical institutions and health examination facilities as of November 2023, with approximately 60,000 users having downloaded and utilized the app.
Regarding personal health interest, 49% of respondents expressed “very interested,” while 48% indicated “somewhat interested.”
In contrast, when asked about their interest in the health of their families, 50% replied “very interested,” and 45% stated “somewhat interested,” emphasizing a high level of concern for the health of both themselves and their families.

Karteco Renewal
MDV has undergone a comprehensive renewal of “Karteco,” aligning it with the concept of “managing the health of oneself and loved ones.” The system now incorporates non-contact biometric information acquisition technology (sensing), allowing users to easily grasp their pulse rate, respiratory rate, and autonomic nervous system balance by simply capturing their face with a smartphone camera for 10 seconds. “Karteco” users can now seamlessly manage their daily health, and the sensing technology has been extended to measure the autonomic nervous system balance in dogs, leading the way in applying health management to pets.
