MDV and TXP Medical entered into a business alliance agreement last September and have been practically discussing how they work together. Through this alliance, MDV’s medical database (as of the end of February 2024, with a patient population of 46.74 million) will be combined with TXP Medical’s database which covers all the medical fields, particularly emergency medicine. This comprehensive medical database will be in use to accelerate the utilization of data by pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and other players in healthcare. This capital and business alliance will enable us to make even deeper collaboration and promote cooperation to achieve the business visions.
TXP Medical, envisioning the principle of “Save lives with medical data,” develops the emergency medicine information system “NEXT Stage ER,” which has been installed by 73 hospitals nationwide (as of the end of February 2024). Nearly 40% of these hospitals have agreed to the secondary use of medical data in emergency medicine and from electronic medical records for clinical research and clinical trials. This means that TXP Medical can collaborate with hospitals averaging over 700 beds data-wise. Moreover, TXP Medical has established a Data Ware House within hospitals’ database, serving as a data store, to keep and sort out large volumes of medical data in chronological order, which facilitates the data utilization for analysis and other purposes.
By strengthening our relationship through the capital and business alliance, both companies will propose joint solutions to customers such as pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions for providing new value in medical data utilization. We will also propose more efficient way of conducting clinical trials to our customers by leveraging the resources of both companies. Additionally, they will support pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions to perform clinical research on new treatment and validation of the efficacy of new drugs through data utilization. Tomohiro Sonoo, CEO of TXP Medical, states, “The ‘T-type’ medical database model, leveraging the strengths of MDV and our company, will become the only and ultimate solution in the field of database research”.
