PHR Karteco Launches AI-Powered Risk Prediction for 34 Diseases on October 31, Featuring a Risk Simulator that Shows the impact of Lifestyle Improvement

Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. (MDV; Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Iwasaki) is pleased to announce the launch, on Thursday, October 31, of a new feature in the personal health record (PHR) system “Karteco” that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the risk of developing 34 different diseases based on health checkup results.
In the past, the “Future Prediction Report” used existing logic based on health checkup results to predict the risk of developing six diseases. This time, utilizing one of Japan’s largest medical database owned by MDV (), and with technical support from Sony Network Communications Inc.’s AI predictive analysis tool, “Prediction One,” we have developed an enhanced model for predicting disease onset risk. ( As of the end of September 2024, covering 48.95 million actual patients)
The “Future Prediction Report” calculates and provides the three-year onset risk for 34 diseases. The primary aim of this feature is to encourage behavior changes for disease prevention and health maintenance, as well as to recommend follow-up medical consultations after health checkups.
Key Features of the Future Prediction Report:
Health Risk
In addition to predicting the risk of disease onset, this feature also considers the potential impact on quality of life (QOL) if the individual develops the disease, and displays the “health risk” accordingly.
Disease Multiplier
To make the risk of onset (shown as a percentage) easier to understand, the risk is recalculated by comparing it to others of the same gender and age group. The result is displayed as a “disease multiplier.”
Risk Simulator The “Risk Simulator” allows users to see how changes in lifestyle habits and test results could impact their disease onset risk.
